The first step in the process to a happier, healthier life begins with attending one of our informative bariatric seminars, or a confidential one-on-one consultation with the Nova Weight Loss bariatric team.

The next step is to schedule your initial consultation and education (ICE appointment) with our dedicated bariatric physician. This consultation initiates the first official dietary consultation required by your insurance company to qualify you for your surgery, as well as begin the process of meeting other essential criteria. During the visit with the bariatric physician, we will assess your prior medical history and order the appropriate diagnostic testing based on your current health needs. You will need to be cleared medically by the physician and approved by your insurance company; these are two separate steps.

After your ICE appointment, we will begin the preparations for surgery. Depending on your specific insurance policy’s requirements, we’ll begin organizing your testing for medical clearance including but not limited to, sleep study, cardiac clearance, psychological clearance, dietary consultations (most insurances require between 4 and 6 consults), specific lab tests, EGD, and pulmonary clearance.
The caring staff at Nova Weight Loss understands how to walk with you through every step and ensures you will feel supported.

The first step on your road to a healthier and happier life begins at one of our informational seminars to learn more about bariatric surgery.  Please call Nova Weight Loss to schedule a convenient time for your appointment.
